Guyana President Dr Irfaan Ali says the Rupununi is one of Guyana’s agricultural powerhouses and has urged Guyana businesses to partner with the community.
He said business men should invest in large-scale farming and unlock the tremendous opportunities that exist.
“Opportunities are there,” President Ali said, “Seek and you shall find. It is time for our investors to come out of their comfort zone and be bold.”
“When I say be bold and innovative, this is what bold and innovation is. You know you have a government, communities and people who are ready to support your investment.”
Located in southwestern Guyana, near the borders with Brazil and Venezuela, the Rupununi Savannah covers approximately 16,000 square kilometers, making it one of the largest savannah regions in the country.
It is characterized by vast grasslands, wetlands, rivers, and seasonal floodplains.
