Officers from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service carried out anti-crime exercises in the Las Lomas and Maloney districts, resulting in the seizure of drugs, ammunition and a firearm.

During searches in Las Lomas, police found about 75 grammes of cannabis hidden among bricks and recovered one round of 9mm ammunition and five rounds of 5.56mm ammunition concealed in a nearby bushy area.

Officers also searched a forested area in Kernaham Trace, Cunupia, where they discovered three pigtail buckets containing fully grown cannabis trees, which were seized.

In a separate intelligence-led exercise in the Maloney district, police arrested a 43-year-old man of Cleaver Road after he attempted to flee while carrying a bag containing a firearm with a magazine loaded with 14 rounds of .40 calibre ammunition.
