Firearm and Ammo seized from SD 6 11 25

Forty-one people were arrested and several firearms, rounds of ammunition, and narcotics seized during a major police exercise in South Trinidad.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says Operation Steadfast was carried out between 2 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday by officers of the Southern Division, supported by the Inter-Agency Task Force, Canine Unit, and other agencies.

The operation targeted criminal activity across multiple areas, resulting in the seizure of two rifles, several rounds of ammunition, and over 400 grams of cannabis.

Police also executed 24 warrants, searched 24 bars, and issued 182 traffic tickets.

The TTPS says the exercise was coordinated by several senior officers and forms part of its continued effort to curb crime across the division.

meanwhile, Tobago police have laid charges against ten minors in two separate cases of school-related violence.

Five students were charged after a classroom assault in May, while another five face charges for an ambush attack at Shaw Park Grounds.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says the arrests reflect its zero-tolerance stance on school violence and its commitment to keeping schools safe for all students.
