Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she is “unbothered” by derogatory remarks made by former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, and will not pursue legal action against him or any media outlet.
Dr Rowley had called Persad-Bissessar a derogatory name during a March 17 news conference, prompting sharp criticism from UNC parliamentarians and public backlash.
The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has reviewed the broadcast and reminded media houses of their obligations to avoid content that degrades or discriminates against any person.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar insists she remains focused on her work, while Dr Rowley continues to defend his comments and challenge TATT’s intervention.
