Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is dismissing concerns that Trinidad and Tobago is under threat from tensions between the United States and Venezuela.

Speaking outside the THA Assembly yesterday, she assured citizens and fishermen that the country is safe, saying military actions target only narco- and human traffickers.

The Prime Minister also refuted claims that the government plans to leave CARICOM, emphasizing that T&T remains committed to the regional bloc.

She says the country is also exploring partnerships with nations such as the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and countries in Europe to expand international engagement.
