PM Kamla Persad Bissessar

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has expressed thanks for an outpouring of concern following a fall at a function in her Siparia constituency yesterday.

The PM tripped on a piece of loose flooring as she was being led to her seat for the JAVA Community Cricket Programme graduation ceremony at the Wilson Road Recreation Ground.

It did not impact her participation, as she went on to give a speech in which she seemingly referenced the incident.

Following the event, Mrs Persad-Bissessar assured that she was well despite the tumble.

She also addressed the matter with a post on her Facebook page, stating “I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of concern following a minor fall in Penal earlier today. I also thank the Honourable Leader of the Opposition Penelope Beckles for her kind words. Rest assured, I am well. God is good, and we continue the fight with strength and faith.”

103.1FM News understands the PM continued with other work after the event, including preparation for today’s Cabinet meeting.
