As the new academic year begins, the Prime Minister is reminding students that literacy is the key to learning, confidence, and opportunity in a technology-driven world.
In her message, which also commemorates International Literacy Day, under the theme “Promoting Literacy in the Digital Era”, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar encouraged all students to embrace learning and believe in their power to achieve.
She reaffirmed government’s efforts to invest in safer, better-equipped schools, anti-bullying measures, and digital tools, so no child is left behind.
Noting the role of the community in raising children, she thanked teachers and principals for their guidance and sacrifice.
