Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the kidnapping of Derek and Claribel Tardieu is being treated as a serious national concern, as police intensify efforts to locate the couple.
The pair were taken from their Monos Island home on Saturday, and a ransom demand of US-two-point-five million dollars has raised suspicions within the investigation.
The Prime Minister says all state agencies are already involved as police pursue several leads.
