Pakistan has struck the Afghan capital of Kabul as part of a wave of attacks across the country.
The Pakistani strikes came after the Afghan Taliban announced a major offensive against Pakistani military posts near the border on Thursday night.
As tensions flare, Pakistan’s PM says the country has “the full capability to crush any aggressive ambitions”, while the defence minister has declared “open war” on the Afghan Taliban.
writing on X, a spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban said it responded with renewed attacks against Pakistani troops, however BBC News says that post has since been deleted.
This is the latest escalation in violence between Pakistan and Afghanistan after months of hostilities.
