Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Barry Padarath says Trinidad and Tobago will stand with the people of Venezuela if a humanitarian crisis erupts—amid fears of US military action.
However, Mr Padarath insisted that this does not mean an open-door migration policy, stressing that migration will be managed strictly within the law.
The acting Foreign Affairs Minister said nations work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide relief and support.
Mr Padarath added that the Prime Minister has said consistently said she supports the people of Venezuela.
