Police in Point Fortin have seized 23 bales of cannabis, valued at an estimated TT$56 million, during an intelligence-led operation on Thursday.
The exercise, coordinated by Commissioner Allister Guevarro and senior officers, targeted a remote forested location off South Central Road, Cap-De-Ville.
Officers say the seizure disrupts criminal networks and protects lives from the impact of illegal drugs.
The cannabis was handed to the Special Investigations Unit for further enquiries, as the TTPS reaffirms its commitment to tackling serious crime nationwide.
