National cyclist Nicholas Paul says it is time to reflect, learn and focus after competing in the 2025 UCI Track World Championships in Chile.

Paul finished outside of the medals in Santiago—fourth in the match sprint, seventh in the keirin, and 12th in the kilometre time trial.

The 27-year-old, who is back at this training base in Switzerland, said it was time to “let is all settle in.”

“To reflect, learn, and refocus. Every race brings new challenges and lessons, and this one was no different,” Paul wrote on this Facebook page.

“Sometimes you walk away with medals, sometimes with experience, but both move you forward,” he added.

The former Naparima College student said he was pleased with the effort he put in during the championships, even if the results did not go his way.

“Not exactly the results I hoped for, but I’m proud of the effort and the fight every time I hit the line. Grateful for everyone who continues to support me and believe in this journey it means more than words can say,” he said.

The Gasparillo-born Paul was a silver medallist in the World Championships in the kilo time trial in 2021 and in the sprint in 2023.

He has won titles in the sprint and the keirin at the Pan American Games and the Pan American Championships.
