Nisha Persad has been appointed as Chairman of both the Regulated Industries Commission and the Fair Trading Commission.
She is among eight persons receiving instruments of appointment, based on the advice of the Cabinet, from President Christine Kangaloo, this morning.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ms Persad said urgent matters are already on the agenda.
Ms Persad said the first order of business will be a board meeting as early as next week, followed by discussions with ministers and relevant line ministries.
Tamara Dawan-Roopansingh will also serve on both boards.
Other appointees to the Fair Trading Commission are Patsy Ramharaksingh-Samaroo and Jonathan Mark; while Barry Chin Fatt, Neha Maharaj, Aruna Beharrylal and Genevieve Thompson have been named to the Regulated Industries Commission.
