Transport Minister Eli Zakour says a national road safety programme will soon be launched.
This came as a response to what were Government’s plans to encourage safer road practices or deter dangerous driving, following the deadly road accidents in the past few weeks.
He said the recently launched driver rehab programme, which allows disqualified drivers to regain their driving privileges, will also be included as part of the initiative.
Road ambassadors coming out of the programme will be engaged in school outreach activities, through a project with the Education Ministry.
No comment was given on whether the red light enforcement or spot camera systems will be implemented in the future.
