National debate for two party leaders before Jamaica’s election

The political leaders of Jamaica’s two national parties are set to go head in head in a national debate on August 28th, before the September 3rd Election.

This will be preceded by two other debates, which will be facilitated by other representatives of both the Jamaica Labour Party and the People’s National Party.

The first debate will take place on August 23rd, with candidates carded to discuss topics related to social issues, while the second one on August 26th will debate the economy.

Chairman of the Jamaica Debates Commission, Brian Schmidt, said for the first time in the history of its 23-years of hosting debates, this year’s debate is set to be a group format debate.
