Monitoring continues with regard to a tropical wave located to the southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
This continues to produce a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms.
The National Hurricane Centre says environmental conditions appear marginally favourable for additional development over the next day or so while the system moves westward.
It adds that while a short-lived tropical depression could form, environmental conditions are then expected to become unfavourable for further development.

Meanwhile, with regard to another area of weather near the Leeward Islands, the NHC says a tropical depression could form late this week or over the weekend.
That tropical wave continues to produce a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
It adds that environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this system as it moves near or to the north of the northern Leeward Islands.
