A 20-year-old man was held following a robbery linked to a dating app.
Around 6:30pm yesterday, a man met up with another man in Barataria, having connected a few days earlier via an app.
The two headed along Third Avenue to Mission Road Extension, San Juan, where the victim saw two other men standing at the side of the roadway.
Upon reaching the area, the three men announced a robbery.
The victim was physically assaulted and relieved of two cellphones and cash.
While conducting enquiries relating to the incident, police officers observed a man fitting the description of one of the suspects.
He was promptly arrested and taken to the San Juan Police Station on further enquiries.
The TTPS is urging persons to exercise caution when meeting individuals known only through online platforms and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
