An MTS worker was gunned down in Arouca this morning.
According to reports, Abdul Mohammed was shot around 9am at Woodstar Boulevard in Bon Air Gardens.
He died at the scene.
Another man was also wounded in the incident which took place near the Bon Air Secondary School.
A Ministry official told 103.1FM News that while the matter took place outside the school compound, there continues to be vigilance to ensure a safe and secure space for students and staff.
The Ministry’s Health and Safety Support Unit and security personnel are said to be in close coordination with the relevant authorities, while the Student Support Services Division has been mobilised to provide counselling and any necessary psychosocial support to students and staff who may be affected.
