The US Department of State has confirmed that citizens of Malawi and Zambia will be subjected to paying up to a $15,000 bond after securing a visa to enter the United States.
This was announced on Tuesday, based on a 2023 Overstay Report in the US.
The move begins on August 20th, with the amount, either being 5 thousand, 10 thousand or 15, being determined at the time of the visa interview.
And persons who put up the bond, must arrive to and depart from the United States via one of three ports of entry, either at Boston’s Logan International Airport, New Yorks’s JFK or Washington’s Dulles International Airport.
