Road March Champion Machel Montano has responded to claims and criticisms surrounding his recent victory.
On the heels of Carnival Tuesday, concerns were expressed over repeated performance appearances at designated judging points, saying it could amount to a violation of the rules for Road March.
At a media conference this afternoon, Montano insisted that he has always played by the rules.
He also addressed the issue of him moving from truck to truck to perform, saying this was at the request of band leaders and, in one instance, the Mayor of Port of Spain.
Meanwhile, for those wondering about the cost of his recent performance at the Flava Village, that figure will not be disclosed.
Also speaking at the conference was Montano’s manager Che Kotari, who said the performance was a private-public partnership.
As such, due to contractual arrangements, the price would not be made public.
