Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the nation’s music and culture remain strong, with artistes inspiring unity, joy, and pride across Trinidad and Tobago.
This came as she congratulated Machel Montano capturing a historic 12th Road March title with “Encore,” surpassing the legendary Lord Kitchener.
She praised Montano for mentoring young talent and creating opportunities for the next generation.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Penny Beckles also congratulated Montano, calling this one of the most historic Road March clashes.
She also praised his unmatched energy, consistency, and devotion to his craft.
Both extended special recognition to second place Aaron St. Louis “Voice” for “Cyah Behave” and Ian Alvarez, “Bunji Garlin,” for third place with “Road Man,” highlighting their contributions to Carnival 2026.
