India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Trinidad and Tobago in early July.
Speaking with 103.1FM News this morning, Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Sobers confirmed an Express report which quoted Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar as saying that Mr Modi had accepted an invitation extended by T&T.
In the report, Mrs Persad Bissessar said Memorandums of Understanding will be signed to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
103.1FM News spoke with Indian High Commissioner Pradeep Rajpurohit who said the itinerary has not been finalized, and that details will follow soon.
According to India’s News X website, the primary highlight of Mr Modi’s visit to the region will be his participation in the BRICS Summit being hosted by Brazil from July 5th – 8th.
