Israel Claims Killing of Iran’s Intelligence Chief

Tensions in the Middle East are escalating after Israel Katz, Israel’s defence minister, claimed that Iran’s intelligence chief Esmail Khatib has been killed.

Katz said Khatib was “eliminated” during overnight operations, though Iran has not yet confirmed the claim.

Meanwhile, a state funeral is set for senior Iranian figures Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani in Tehran, as regional tensions continue to rise.
