Iran’s military says it has targeted the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish forces in northern Iraq, increasing its attacks on Kurdish areas in both Iran and Iraq.

According to Iranian state media, three missiles were fired at “Kurdish groups opposed to the revolution” in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The strikes come amid speculation that US President Donald Trump wants these Kurdish groups to join efforts against Iran, as US and Israeli operations continue in the region.

New images taken on Thursday show damage to Iranian military and leadership sites across the country.
