A landslip along Fort George Road, St James, in the vicinity of “The Battery”, has compromised a section of the roadway.
Even though the roadway does not fall under the purview of the Works Ministry, it has assured it will support the Corporation with the necessary stabilization interventions.
Yesterday, officials from the Ministry and the Port of Spain City Corporation did a preliminary assessment of the slope failure and have implemented interim safeguard measures.
In the meanwhile, motorists and commuters are being urged to exercise caution using the route.
