Heritage Petroleum has taken action to clean up a leak on the compound of the San Fernando East Secondary School.
In a statement issued last night, the company said upon detection of the leak, the area was secured and emergency response protocols were activated.
It adds that equipment was mobilized to contain and clean up the affected area.
As of 8pm yesterday, the line had been plugged and clamped, with the removal of contaminated material continuing.
Monitoring equipment was also being used to ensure readings are within acceptable limits.
