Guyana Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips is calling for stronger South-South cooperation between Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
Speaking yesterday at the CELAC-Africa High-Level Forum in Colombia, he highlighted opportunities for collaboration on climate change, food security, health care, digital technology, and peace and security.
The Prime Minister emphasized that deeper integration and shared expertise could turn these challenges into pillars for sustainable development across both regions.
“We have an opportunity to collaborate in sharing experiences, technical cooperation and joint advocacy in these areas which impact the development of our societies. Issues of the environment, climate change, food security, improved health care systems, digital connectivity and technology, and peace and security, which continue to be of interest and concern to both our regions, can in reality be honed as the pillars of our development cooperation,” he said.
