Guyana president Dr Irfaan Ali has congratulating Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on what it calls an emphatic and historic general election victory.

In a statement, Dr Ali praised Mottley and the Barbados Labour Party for securing a third consecutive mandate and sweeping all 30 seats.

He said the result reflects strong public confidence in her leadership.

“A third successive mandate and a clean sweep of all 30 seats speak to how much her leadership and that of her party resonated in the homes, hearts, and hopes of the Barbadian people,” Dr Ali stated in a media release.

Guyana also signalled its commitment to strengthening ties, citing the shared history and close bonds between the two Caribbean nations.

“Guyana looks forward with renewed optimism to strengthening the fraternal bonds that unite our two nations. Our shared history and common aspirations form a sturdy bridge across the Caribbean,” Dr Ali said.
