The Guyana government says it will roll out new support measures for the population, including a cash grant of GUY$150,000 for each fisherman.
President Irfaan Ali says fuel, fishing seines, and other essential materials will now be tax-free, reducing costs for fisherfolk.
The President adds that before the end of the year, additional measures will come to assist households, persons with disabilities, the elderly, children, women, small businesses, and farmers.
