Newly installed PNM Chairman Marvin Gonzales has asked why the Government is refusing to answer questions about the recent dismissals across various State agencies.
Speaking yesterday at PNM’s Special Convention, he claimed questions filed for urgent answer are being blocked and Opposition members are being refused to pose critical questions to the Government.
In the last Lower House Sitting, Ministers Dave Tancoo and Barry Padarath invoked Standing Order 27(1G), in response to questions posed by the Opposition, about the dismissals of the former the Central Bank Governor and WASA executive board members.
Mr Gonzales also made claims that the UNC-led Government has launched attack on independent senators who challenge their power.
Meanwhile, he said the PNM is ready to respond to allegations posed by Attorney General John Jeremie about the alleged misuse of public funds.
A few weeks ago in Parliament, Mr Jeremie said the office of the Attorney General inherited substantial arrears, including legal fees and rental costs linked to persons allegedly close to the Opposition.
