Government has assured Parliament that the cyber-security systems are robust for the new digital arrival and departure card platform for travellers.
The system, which replaces paper forms for all air and sea travellers, was launched earlier this week and will commence operation on March 17.
The Prime Minister assured that the system would stand up to scrutiny.
“I was advised to just say ‘yes.’ I will say ‘yes,’ but also this is a very important initiative that should have been rolled out years, decades ago,” Mrs Persad-Bissessar said.
“I am very happy my government through the Minister of Homeland Security is now rolling out this package.”
The new system was launched on Wednesday.
