Dr. Roodal Moonilal says former St. Vincent Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves paid the “ultimate political price” for his criticism of T&T’s fight against narco-traffickers.
Dr. Gonsalves was removed from office yesterday after Godwin Friday’s party swept the polls in a landslide.
Speaking in the Lower House today, Dr. Moonilal said Dr. Gonsalves was one who publicly condemned the actions of T&T’s Prime Minister.
He urged other CARICOM leaders to pay attention.
Dr. Moonilal was contributing to a private Opposition motion reaffirming T&T’s commitment to CARICOM.
Meanwhile, Opposition chief whip Marvin Gonzales has criticized government’s stance towards CARICOM during a sitting of the House of Representatives this afternoon.
Mr Gonzalez said that if the government continues to undermine our foreign relations through mixed communication.
