Former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith says he will take his challenge over a controversial audit report to the Privy Council, citing principle and constitutional fairness.
Griffith disagrees with a recent Court of Appeal ruling and argues the report, which examined his tenure as Commissioner, contained misleading and unverified allegations capable of causing serious reputational damage.
He contends the report was circulated publicly, influenced government officials, and that he was denied a proper opportunity to respond before its submission.
Griffith emphasized this matter is not political but about ensuring future governments cannot harm the reputations of constitutional office holders without due process.
He also noted that five years after the audit, none of the serious corruption allegations have been substantiated.
