Four earthquakes, including 6.3M, rock north and west Venezuela

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake was one of four that shook west and north Venezuela from last night into the early hours of this morning.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquakes, with magnitude ranging from 4.9 to 6.3, were all centered near the town of Mene Grande in Zulia state.

The quakes were also reportedly felt in neighboring Colombia, as well as the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire.

Mene Grande is an oil town in a sparsely populated area of the state of Zulia, about 600 kilometers west of Caracas.

There have been no immediate reports of any casualties or serious damage.
