The Environmental Management Authority has issued a Certificate of Environmental Clearance to Exxon Mobil to conduct a 3D seismic survey, within Block TTUD-1.

This approval marks the first CEC for hydrocarbon exploration within the ultra-deepwater marine area and covers an area of 8,825 square kilometers off Trinidad’s East Coast.

The official handover will take place today, with Minister of Planning Kennedy Swaratsingh, Energy Minister Dr. Roodal Moonilal, and representatives from both ExxonMobil and the EMA.

On August 12th, the Government signed a multi-million US dollar agreement with Exxon Mobil, at the Diplomatic Centre, for the production sharing contract for Block Trinidad and Tobago Ultra Deep 1 (TTUD-1).
