The EMA has granted approval to EOG Resources to explore two offshore gas wells off Trinidad’s North Coast.

The Certificate of Environmental Clearance covers wells TG-1 and TG-2 and is the first issued by the EMA’s new board for the oil and gas sector.

EMA chairman Doolar Ramlal said the approval was completed within the required timeframe, following a full technical review, and confirmed that an environmental impact assessment was not required.
