Alex Ekesa and Aniqua Bailey won the top awards at the UWI Internaitonal Half Marathon on Sunday.
Trinidad and Tobago Road Runners Club (TTRRC) athlete Ekesa finished in one hour, eight minutes, and 33 seconds (1:08:33) to win the men’s event.
Tafari Waldron of UTT Patriots was second (1:08:58) with Nicholas Romany of TTRRC (1:11:06) in third place.
Pace and Performance Factory (PPF) athlete Aniqua Bailey stormed to a dominant victory in the women’s event, crossing the line in 1:30:36.
Alexia John of Pacelink Elite was second in 1:33:09, just ahead of former champion Samantha Shukla (1:33:33).
Kerry McLaren won the men’s 5km in 18:18, winning a duel with Zidan Hamid (19:19) on the line.
Ziya Hosein-Livingstone took the women’s 5k title in 23:47.
