Eight people have been arrested, following a Roving Road Check exercise in Valencia on Saturday, as part of Operation Trident.
The suspects were detained after police received information about a suspected firearm and ammunition and an excavator, allegedly stolen from Toco, being escorted by two vehicles.
The men were held however, no firearm was recovered during the operation.
The suspects, aged between 28 and 43, are being questioned in relation to the theft of the excavator.
