Driver’s Rehabilitation Programme underway

The Licensing Authority has successfully hosted the first two sessions of the Driver’s Rehabilitation Programme.

According to the Transport Ministry, these are being done in collaboration with the TTPS and are designed to promote safer driving.

Over the two sessions, participants engaged in interactive workshops that reinforced the importance of road safety and responsible driving

Key areas covered included: clear interpretation of road laws and regulations, understanding traffic management, the importance of seatbelt use, and the dangers of distracted driving.

This programme is mandated under the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, which requires disqualified drivers to complete rehabilitation training before their permits can be reinstated.

They are free of charge however disqualified drivers must register in advance to participate in the programme.

The next Driver’s Rehabilitation Programme session will be held on:

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Port of Spain City Hall, Corner Knox and Frederick Streets
