All laptops for form one students will arrive in the country by December 23rd, and the Minister of Education says a distribution schedule will be shared with parents.
Today, the first 168 AI-enabled devices were distributed to the form one students at Penal Secondary School.
Minister of Education Dr. Michael Dowlath says 2,500 devices have arrived, 8,500 will arrive on December 3rd and the final 7,000 by December 23rd.
Following the distribution, there will also be a national parental training programme and a digital parent portal, which is now in development.
For use of these laptops, strict usage protocols will apply.
According to the Prime Minister, who spoke at the event, the future of the country is now in the laptops in the book-bags of the nations’ children.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said she is reviewing a note, brought to Cabinet, from Health Minister Lackram Bodoe to reduce the sugar intake of student in schools.
She encouraged the students to treat their brains well but also emphasized the need to take care of their bodies also.
