Disaster Relief Grants and Minor Home Repair Grants have been distributed to some residents in the San Juan/Laventille region.
These were presented this morning by Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services Vandana Mohit, who said the grants were “not just financial transactions, but lifelines-restoring hope, rebuilding homes, and renewing confidence in a brighter tomorrow.”
51 households, representing 141 beneficiaries, received grants valued at $738,059.
This included:
• Home Repair Grants to 33 households, benefiting 94 individuals, valued at $319,259.
• Disaster Relief Grants to 18 households, supporting 47 persons, valued at $418,800.
According to the Ministry, these interventions will provide immediate financial relief for food and essential household needs, while also enabling longer-term recovery through safer housing conditions and access.
