Former United States Vice President Dick Cheney has died aged 84.
A release from his family indicated he died last night from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
The Republican politician served as VP to President George W Bush from 2001-2009, and was considered a driving force behind the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
