Hundreds of women took to the streets of Havana on Tuesday, protesting U.S. sanctions they say are crippling the island’s economy.
The demonstration, organized by the Federation of Cuban Women, also honoured its late founder Vilma Espín.
Protesters waved flags and called for an end to the U.S. blockade introduced under Donald Trump.
Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal described the measures as unjust, saying the Cuban people do not deserve what she called a long-standing system of coercion.
