Authorities in Greece have seized seven tonnes of cocaine, reportedly loaded off Venezuela, bound for Europe.
According to Reuters, the five suspected members of an international crime ring were arrested following an investigation, in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Another five individuals on board the ship have also been taken into custody by French authorities.
Greece is now probing the vessel’s owner, who has a criminal history related to drug offences.
