CARPHA—the Caribbean Public Health Agency—has successful concluded a two day-regional workshop aimed at strengthening surveillance of diseases like dengue, chikungunya, and malaria through the use of data.
Seventeen participants from nine CARPHA member states, including Trinidad and Tobago, were trained by a host of experts, including epidemiologists, and environmental health professionals.
CARPHA head Dr Lisa Indar said the same tools that help anticipate the outbreak of diseases, will help us contain the next pandemic.
She said investing in better data, faster early warning, and Caribbean tailored decision tooks will help countries stay ahead of curve.
