Citizens Against Noise Pollution in Trinidad and Tobago are calling for stricter regulations on bar noise, saying loud bass and amplified sound are causing harm to residents.
In a Facebook post, the group said noise pollution is not a “minor inconvenience”, when music from bars shakes walls, disturbs sleep and causes stress.
It is calling on lawmakers for proper regulation to protect residents and ensure that enjoyment does not come at the cost of people’s health and peace.
The post suggested that bars should soundproof their premises, control bass frequencies, and respect quiet hours, as is standard in many other parts of the world.
