The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) says the Buccoo Reef vessel will re-enter service on the inter-island sea bridge from Monday, February 9, 2026.
PATT says the vessel will add “significant passenger and vehicle capacity to the sea bridge.”
The Buccoo Reef can accommodate 948 passengers and 160 vehicles and its return brings the active sea bridge fleet to three passenger vessels and one cargo barge.
PATT says the vessel will operate alongside the APT James and Galleons passage for passenger and vehicle service.
The heavy cargo barge Elgin-VI will continue to support the movement of construction materials, heavy freight, and essential cargo to Tobago.
“PATT continues to coordinate sea bridge operations to strengthen reliability and manage demand while maintaining all safety and regulatory requirements,” the Authority stated on Monday.
