Transport Minister Eli Zakour says the inter-island ferry, the Blue Wave Harmony, will enter its final sea trials this week before entering full passenger operations.

The addition of the vessel, which replaced the Cabo Star, to the inter-island sea-bridge was delayed by an accident at the Port of Scarborough during sea trials.

The delay has been linked to disruption in cargo service on the sea-bridge, but Minister Zakour told the Senate on Tuesday the Blue Wave Harmony is close to entering service.

“Night berthing exercises are due to commence tomorrow, February 25th 2026, as part of the final evaluation stage, after which the vessel is expected to transition into full commercial passenger operations,” he said.

“A regularized sailing program is being prepared, and, consistent with established practice, the schedule will be published this Friday providing at least one week of confirmed sailings at a time,” Minister Zakour added.
