Amnesty International says Hamas committed crimes against humanity during its October 7, 2023 attack on southern Israel and against hostages taken to Gaza.
The report, based on interviews, site visits, and over 350 videos and photos, cites murder, torture, rape, and other abuses as part of a systematic attack on civilians.
Hamas denied the allegations, calling for a retraction, while Israel said the report does not reflect the full scale of the group’s atrocities.
Around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed, and 251 taken hostage, most of whom have since been released.
