The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has firmly condemned acts of animal cruelty, describing them as heinous and inhumane.
The Ministry was responding to reports that stray cats were being killed at a location in Trinidad.
It highlighted that animal cruelty is a criminal offence under the Summary Offences Act and the Animals Act.
The Agriculture Ministry called on the public to stay alert and report ongoing acts of cruelty and suspected and planned abuse.
